Ski holidays in Sainte-Foy Tarentaise

Although small, Sainte-Foy Tarentaise has plenty to offer for your next ski holiday in France and is particularly popular for its great off-piste skiing and snowboarding. There are around 15 slopes and 4 chairlifts in the resorts, and the North Westerly angle of the mountains means that the well groomed pistes stay fresh with powder for longer than other resorts.

Sainte-Foy Tarentaise is well known for its fantastic off-piste skiing. Joined by a professional skier, you can take some of the most beautiful routes in the region and admire the stunning views from the Mont Pourri and Fogliettaz glaciers or from the peaks at Archeboc and Ruitor. You can even get into the Italian valleys of Valgrisenche and Val d’Aosta which are just over the summit that makes up the France/ Italy border.

Après ski

There’s just enough in Sainte-Foy to keep you entertained during your holiday, and of course the resorts of Val-d'Isère, Tignes, and Les Arc are only a short drive away. There are a couple of bars open through the night, but it’s really a great resort to get some down time, Sainte-Foy is where the seasonaires come to escape the crowds.

Eating out

There are a great selection of bars and restaurants here; mountain restaurants for a hearty lunch and traditional gourmet dining for an evening meal and a few drinks. Whether you fancy a takeaway pizza back in your chalet or delicious traditional Savoyard cuisine, you’ll be able to find it here, and with friendly service too.

Non-ski activities

We really recommend the sensational off-piste skiing at Sainte-Foy, but if you want to try a non-ski activity, there are some great guided snowshoeing tours, ice driving, dog sledding, tobogganing, parapente, and guided night-time excursions. There is a bus service to all the nearby villages too for shopping and exploring the charming traditional hamlets.

Summer season

The gorgeous mountain location is a joy to see in the summer. Families can rest assured that the kids will have plenty to do, from learning forest skills and wood construction, to zipping through the canopies in the high ropes adventure centre. There are all the usual mountain activities to try also including hiking, biking, horse riding, and there is an International White Water sports base in Bourg-Saint-Maurice.
