Ski holidays in Meribel

A hugely popular resort for British tourists, Meribel is a charming Alpine village with links to one of the largest ski areas in the world, the Trois Vallée; and also a large amount of pistes in the resort itself. A great choice for family holidays with beginners as the majority of the slopes are blue and helpfully sheltered by the surrounding mountains.

The main section of Maribel offers a bustling village feel and with a bi-weekly market there’s no getting away from its appeal as a traditional alpine resort whilst other quarters such as Mussillon offer quiet retreat from the main hubbub. Located in the middle of the Three Valleys area, Maribel is the ideal location from which to explore the whole ski area, so be sure to purchase a full area pass.

Après ski

One of the liveliest resorts in the Alps, you’re assured of plenty of after dark entertainment be it in a nightclub or bar, whether you wish to partake in some dancing, karaoke or merely wish to enjoy a game of pool with the duke-box on, you won’t be short of options. And further out from the main village there are more sophisticated establishments for those wanting a quiet drink away from the hustle and bustle.

Eating out

With over 80 eateries to choose from eating out in Maribel is a bit of a haven for foodies, there’s plenty of choice throughout the resort, but it’s in the central part of the village where you’ll find the most choice. From traditional taverns serving up the infamous Savoyard style dishes to more cafeteria style establishments popular through the day, you’re sure to find something to enjoy.

Non-ski activities

If you’re looking for another challenge whilst visiting Maribel then why not get back to nature and try some cross-country skiing? Perfect for those wanting to enjoy some peace and quiet you can explore the trails at you own pace. And yet more rest and relaxation can be enjoyed at one of the local spas – there are more than a dozen to choose from.

Summer season

If you’re visiting Maribel in the summer there’s still plenty of activities to enjoy and one of its main draws is the 18 hole golf course. With its narrow fairways and water features it’s technically quite a challenge – making it even more popular with experienced golfers. Other outdoor activities include hiking, biking and – not for the faint hearted – hydro-speeding. is a trading name of The Big Domain Limited | The Big Domain Limited is registered in England and Wales. | Registered Office: Travel Chapter House Gammaton Road Bideford EX39 4DF | Company No. 04707652 | VAT reg: 942636610
