Ski holidays in Chatel

Chatel is part of the fantastic Portes du Soleil interlinked ski area, one of the largest in the world and with over 400 miles of slopes. The choice of accommodation in Chatel makes is the perfect base for ski holidays linked to the wider ski area, but there are also plenty on offer if you chose to only stay within the resort - with a fantastic selection of pistes from beginner to intermediate and pro, and a very large snowpark with an 800 run for boardercross plus a 120 metre halfpipe.

Chatel is part of the stunning Portes du Soleil ski area, crossing the border from Lake Geneva to the summit of Mont Blanc, which comprises of over 200 lifts and is one of the biggest ski areas in the world. Chatel itself also has plenty to keep you entertained during your ski holiday, with a great snowpark and a wide collection of slopes for all abilities.

Après ski

There is a good collection of friendly bars in Chatel, from chilled out pubs where you can enjoy a relaxing drink to trendy bars putting on themed parties and DJ sets into the early hours, there’s a great vibe in the nightlife around Chatel. If you fancy swapping your ski boots for dancing shoes, visit Le Sloopy’s which is open every night until 5.30 am offering themed nights and two different clubs in one.

Eating out

You’ll find plenty of friendly and delicious places to go for a meal out in Chatel. There is a huge choice of restaurants from fine dining in a traditional setting in places like La Table D’Antone, Le 32, and Le Fiacre to name only a few, are both welcoming, wood panelled eateries offering home cooked traditional dishes along with pizza and other alpine feasts. There is also great choice of cafes and pubs for snacks, crepes and hot drinks including Le Genepi, Salon, and The Hors Piste is the place to get delicious tapas and snacks.

Non-ski activities

If you don’t ski or snowboard or if you’re just after a break then there's plenty to do around Chatel. You can go bowling at the R’Bat Bar, or catch the latest releases in Chatel’s two cinemas. For something a little more active you can go ice skating, or take the land train around the village to see the sights. For a little pampering, Chatel has a wide choice of beauty parlours and spas for a massage or a treatment. But perhaps one of the most unique activities you can do at Chatel is take high tea on one of the mountain farms, after being given a tour of the area by the farmers themselves.

Summer season

Forget your worries and enjoy the fresh mountain air on a summer holiday to Chatel. For a truly unique experience try the amazing ‘Fantasticable’, a zip wire course thousands of meters long which you fly along suspended horizontally from a harness over 240 meters above the valley below!
