Ski holidays in Schladming Dachstein

Schladming Dachstein is one of the largest ski areas in Austria and each mountain offers something different and unique to its visitors, but they all share a fantastic family of slopes, a large modern lift system, and some great skiing across over 220 km of slopes. Freeriders will love Schladming Dachstein’s endless powder fields, steep chutes, and jumps off the Superpark.

Schladming Dachstein is a family friendly destination for skiing holidays. There’s an entire snow park just for kids, as well as a highly recommended ski school. With access to the entire Schladming Dachstein ski area of over 220 km of pistes, you’re never stuck for choice of where to ski. If you want to try your skill at tricks and jumps, you’ll thrive in the Superpark, a wonderland of chutes, jumps and bowls to impress your fellow skiers and boarders.

Après ski

Home to Europe’s largest après ski bar, Hohenhaus Tenne a rustic wood and stone lodge with a dance floor, the after party vibe is buzzing in Schladming Dachstein. There are also a few bars which put on live music and the whole resort has a friendly and welcome feel, a great place for a few drinks after a hard day on the slopes.

Eating out

Austria has a rich cultural heritage when it comes to hospitality and food and this is reflected all across the region. There is an abundance of cosy and friendly lodges serving up a variety of gourmet treats from delicious traditional Styrian cuisine to tasty international dishes.

Non-ski activities

Schladming Dachstein is a great resort if you want to have fun on and off the slopes. Sledding is a popular activity here and you’ll find one of the longest runs in the Alps dedicated only to sledding! It’s well lit and there is a lift to take you safely back up to the top. Other non ski activities you can try include ice skating, tubing, snowshoe hiking, and horse sled rides. Indoors, you can cosy up in the cinema or visit the very child friendly Gallic Ski Village.

Summer season

Once the snow retreats for the summer, Schladming Dachstein is a hiking paradise. The lush green valleys and craggy limestone mountain cliffs become visible along a variety of trails, from easy Alpine strolls to hard going hikes. Climbing is a popular summer pastime in Schladming Dachstein, or why not head into the lakes and try canoeing, there’s plenty of choice for active summer holidays here!
